 Audio Innovations Bass Race/Term Lab Metering Session
AUDIO INNOVATIONS MARCH METERING SESSION  Audio Innovations 319 Kalanikoa St. Hilo, HI 96720 (808) 961-6219 Saturday March 27th, 2010 2:00pm-6:00pm Parking is available in any of the stalls in front of Audio Innovations, as well as across the street at the Kawamoto swimming pool. Classes: SPL Class A 1-101 sq. inches Class B 102-160 sq. inches Class C 161-260 sq. inches Class D 261-354 sq. inches Class E 355+ sq. inches Bass Race 120-129.9 130-139.9 140-145.9 Meter: Termlab Fee: FREE!Rules of the competition: • Wattage does not affect division placement. • All dB Run scores will be read at the dash on the passenger side, sealed, legal using a Term-LAB sensor. • Competitors have a total of 30 seconds in which to achieve the highest SPL reading. • Competitors are permitted to use their own material during a dB Run (i.e. music, test tones, etc…) If the competitor does not have their own material, we shall have some on hand. • Competitors retain the option of having the engine running during a dB Run. If running, the engine may not exceed 5000 RPM (for safety of spectators and judges). • Operation of the vehicle or sound system must not endanger the judge, competitor, spectators, or any real or personal property on the premises. • The vehicle's parking brake must be set and the hood must be closed shut. • Doors, windows, and other panels of the competing vehicle may be held from the outside by a total of four people. Sitting on the trunk / roof is permitted. • The battery under the hood must have an in-line fuse on the run of power wire that enters into the cab of the vehicle. • The Secondary battery must have an in-line fuse if the amps are more than 10' (feet) away from it. • No one besides the competitor is permitted inside the vehicle cabin during a dB Run. • Power wire runs from the engine bay into the cab of the vehicle must not be exposed outside the vehicle. (Example would be running the wire between the door jamb from the hood causing it to be smashed when the door is closed). • Prior to your run, the vehicle will be inspected for its installation quality and safety. If it appears to be unsafe, you will NOT be able to compete and your entrance fee will be refunded. • Competitors may remain inside of the vehicle if ONE of these conditions are met (This means if you don't meet the first 2, but sign the WAIVER at the time of registering then you may sit in the vehicle without ear plugs, this is to alleviate host shop of any liability due to hearing loss from loud music or pressure levels).. 1. They wear adequate hearing protection at all times. Removal of the hearing protection while inside of the vehicle will result in immediate disqualification 2. The competitor's maximum SPL never exceeds 140 dB. A measured SPL in excess of 140 dB will be recorded as 140 dB.(if waiver not signed) 3. The competitor has signed the entry form part that includes a waiver stating that the competitor understands that "exposure to high sound pressure levels may result in temporary or permanent hearing loss". • All competitors must conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner. Physical or verbal abuse of other competitors, the officiating crew, exhibitors, or spectators may result in immediate disqualification, ejection from the competition. Bass Race rules: We will have a sensor placed in the standard position. This will be an SPL average over a 30 second run. Music must be played. This will not conform to the “mainland" rules. Any music may be played as long as there are words on it, NO ENHANCED MUSIC. A judge will make the decision. Now I know that many systems have the capability to “skip” the deck so I am allowing IPODS AND MEMORY STICKS. Bass Race will be open to all competitors, consumer and professionals. Competitors may choose the category they would like to compete in, and have the option of running with the windows up or down. The competitor with the highest spl average in their category without going over is the winner in the event of a TIE competitors will run again untill one person either scores less or breaks out! This event is in appreciation to all of our customers and the shops who has helped support the hobby and this friendly competition. I've been surprised too that we haven't seen many Kicker and Rockford rides. Even JL. Tons of guys are rocking W7's, L7's and power series subs! so....where u at? Come out and plays guys. No matter what you have. We all dig bass and would love to hear your sounds!!!
