When and Where
December 5th, 2009 Wizard Parking Lot
Check-in / Event Start:
4:00 / 4:30
Pre-registration $5.00
Day of event $10.00
Trophies for 1st place in each class, Record Holders will have a spot on the Wizard Wall of Bass
Events:
SPL:
You have 30 seconds to post the Highest SPL in your class.
Any source material goes. Windows up!
Classes:
Class A 1-101 sq. inches
Class B 102-160 sq. inches
Class C 161-260 sq. inches
Class D 261-354 sq. inches
Class E 355+ sq. inches
Bass Race:
Acheive the highest SPL average over 30 seconds in your bracket without breaking out. Music only
Classes:
120.0-129.9
130-139.9
140-144.9
Urban Assault:
Drive by the meter in laps with your class until time runs out with any music you have.
Time limit will be based on the entries per class.
Classes:
<140db peak
140db plus
Basic rules:
1. I understand that exposure to High sound pressure levels may result in temporary or permanent hearing loss.
2. My car will be inspected for saftey (fusing and safe power runs) and class qualifaction
If your car fails you will not be allowed to compete and will be refunded your entry fee
3.The head judge has the final say in any dispute
This includes but is not limited to source materail, install quality, and class qualifaction

Wizard Sound off 12.05.09 how about the lowest sounding 8 inch class????? thats kens class. we should do one class for each size sub for the lowest bass output...ill join the 18 inch class, with my 12..  sq?????

no meters just "tonality"
thats way different then just building up pressure at 30 hz..
"building pressure" and actually "hearing it" is two differnet animals...
remember at last cd wizard sound off, u could "hear" my low bass over everyone playing there "pressure systems"

Wizard Sound off 12.05.09 As some of you have already seen we will be having a loudest 8" class. This started randomly after Stacey's comp. So far it's a shop battle, but anyone is welcome to jump in the ring. I say we leave the low side of things out of the 8" class for this 1st round but I'm open to feedback from you guys.
How many guys would compete in a class with a freq cutoff somewhere around 34hz?
Lastly I'd like to crown a "Best of Show". A car that held in own in each class and looks nice too. This would be a score looking at your performance in SPL, Bass Race, Urban Assault, Install quality and vehicle upgrades.
What do you guys think?

Wizard Sound off 12.05.09 thats fine but if i enter a car that is soley on the design of looking and sounding nice the my urban, spl scores will be kinda well sh!tty.
not fair for the guy who enters for simply a nice sounding system that looks really good.

for the eight inch class..
whos 8 is the most impressive on slam session, im so tiredof everyone
relying on the "meter" to judge how ones system preforms and yet all the up and comers are gonna believe that stuff, thats why the urban assult was a cool idea.
now i say again doors open in each class to see whos system is the worthiest groundpounder of each class.
that to me is more impressive cause even though some cars at sound off are louder on the mic im still louder on the street.
hahahahaa
so seriously jetta that may be something for u to think of.
god i miss the old days when it was about just slamming.
but if u can t do all classes at least do the eight inch class like that.
limit 1k of power
limit two 8s
stock electricals(which i dont think is gonna be a prob)
play music of choice
two cars side by side. doors closed windows down.
the car that seems to be the louder *lower* car moves on.
that means we judge on how loud and musical the bass is not someone opening windows and doing a "fart at 40hz"
limit all classes to two woofers and 1k in power...
